The Visual Artist
Blessing “Kumbie” Gandawa is a Zimbabwean artist born and raised in the capital, Harare. She moved to Missouri, USA in 2015 to pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration and Management.
After completing her education, Kumbie founded the Kumbie Art Initiative, which focuses on supporting talented youth in her home country Zimbabwe.
The Mission
Kumbie Art aims to tell the story of the diversity and dynamic beauty of Africa. While the narrative related to the current affairs of the continent is almost linked to that of sympathy, the main goal is to show the good that is not always portrayed in the media. This of course includes portraits of great leaders of the nations of Africa, the everyday mordern black kings and queens and the vast that touches every end of the landscapes of the rich continent.
